Hey Tony! How are you my old friend! Yes, I did pass the
audition and have been in DC ever since thanks to you! I
thought we talked about it long ago. Where are you living
these days? I'm so glad we have reconnected. I am a Sergeant
First Class and this year I'll have 17yrs in the Army! Can
you believe it? I want to thank you from the bottom of my
heart for everything you did for me. To this day I still
carry with me all the trumpet and life lessons and wisdom
you were kind enough to share with me. I will always be
grateful to you for helping me mature as a trumpet player,
musician and a man. I'll send you my cell# on fb. Love you
Tony!
Sincerely, Rick (rickidy)

Mr. Horowitz: When I first met you and your wife, Naomi,
by virtue of your modesty, I couldn't really believe all of
the things that my buddies told me about you. Now, having
seen your web site, and thinking about all of the things I
was told, all I can say is that it was a privilege to be in
your company, as well as to listen to your words of wisdom
regarding "the road," etc. Thank you for all that
you are, and do. Jeff Fields, Monterey, CA

Mr. Horowitz: I know, you told us to call you Tony. After
talking with you and your wife, Naomi, my friend Jeff and I
decided to come to the library and check out your web site.
You are truly awesome. Your words were very inspiring. We
both learned a lot about life, as well as music that
evening. Keep spreading the "word of education" as
well as the need for the arts in our society. Rudy Cezar,
Monterey, CA

After all this time, it is good to find you. Looks like you've been doing well,
but hey with your chops, this is to be expected.
Happy New Year, and belated wishes for the same during the intervening years since
we played together.
I live now shuttling between Singapore and Bali, with occasional detours to Seoul,
Beijing, Tokyo, and even Ulaanbaatar. My life is a series of miracles, how else does
a kid from Inkster come to know Tony Horowitz in Hollywood?
I'm now laying the groundwork for a Bali International Arts Festival, if it all comes
together, you are high on my "must have" list. The same people and I started the first
two Jakarta Jazz Festivals, which have grown into Java Jazz, and is now produced by
Paul Denkmeier from the North Sea Festivals. I moved on, not fond of politics.
So "e" me dude, catch me up, what is the Jazz scene like now in
SoCal? What I hear from
visiting musicians is not too encouraging, the legendary Parisian Room is now a post office,
and Concerts by the Sea has gone extremely corporate, and not in a good way for musicians.
Sad.
Oh well, the kids do grow up, and leave the nest, Jazz is flourishing and growing
internationally, and that is good.
Take care, I look forward to exchanging ideas with you and perhaps even jamming.
Stranger things have happened.
